On July 31, 2026, The ceremonial launch of the Framework for Fertiliser Sale (FFS) application was held on Friday at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner's Office, Kamrup, marking a significant step towards ensuring transparency and efficiency in fertiliser distribution through digital technology.Speaking on the occasion, the District Commissioner of Kamrup Deba Kumar Mishra said the digitisation initiative will bring greater transparency and accountability to the fertiliser distribution system. He highlighted that the initiative has already covered more than 300 fertiliser retailers and around 80,000 farmers, creating a transparent, efficient and technology-driven mechanism for the sale and distribution of fertilisers across the district. He further urged officials to encourage the registration of more farmers on the FFS platform so that a larger number of beneficiaries can avail themselves of the transparent and seamless fertiliser distribution system in the future.The District Commissioner informed that farmers can now conveniently generate a QR code through the FFS platform. Demonstrating the ease and effectiveness of the system, he also distributed urea and other fertilisers to farmers using the QR code-enabled platform during the programme.The programme was attended by Additional District Commissioner Debashis Goswami, District Agriculture Officer Hitesh Bezbarua, District Nodal Officer (Fertiliser) Sankar Dutta, officials of the Agriculture Department, along with fertiliser retailers and farmers.
